Natalie and Steve live in the same village as me, so when they contacted me about photographing their wedding I thought it might be a nice local gig .... then they mentioned it was in Yorkshire! Unlike most weddings, it wasn't a family tie or somewhere they had lived previously but the lure of a local chef at The Pheasant that helped seal the deal. They were there having a meal one day, sat on the terrace and got to chatting about what they'd do*IF* they ever got married. That's when they decided that The Pheasant would be perfect. Roll on a few months and there they were with all their closest friends and family!!

From the moment I arrived I could see why Nat and Steve thought The Pheasant was ideal. It suited them perfectly ... to describe it as a boutique hotel doesn't really do it justice. It's beautifully styled, incredibly relaxed and serves ridiculously good food, courtesy of Chef Peter Neville. Nat and Steve are proper foodies and the 7 course tasting menu had all the guests raving - so much so that they dragged the Chefs out from the kitchen to give them a round of applause!

Not long after the food had had chance to settle, tables were dismantled, chairs pushed out of the way and the terrace was transformed into an al fresco dance floor.  When I left the music was pumping and the dance moves were starting to get mildly inappropriate!!

Thanks for taking me up to a beautiful part of the country guys, these are a few of my favourites x
